Matt Cutts wanted to experiment with the idea of trying something new for 30 days. He claims this changed his way of time in life.
Matt first began with a list of things he wanted to add to his daily life like riding a bike to work or taking a photo everyday. He also then considered things we wanted to take out like extra sugars and caffeine. Matt noticed after taking a photo a day that when he glanced back on the picture he remembered exactly where he was and the sights he saw. He said that the months didn't seem to "fly-by" and he actually had a perception of time. Since Matt began accepting tougher 30-day challenges he noticed a change in his self confidence. He went from a middle-aged man sitting at a computer desktop all day to the type of guy who bikes to work everyday for the fun. He wanted to step up his challenges to the point of becoming so adventurous he hiked up the tallest mountain in Africa. Toward the end of his talk Matt points out that the challenge you gave yourself may not stick in the end but it definitely should give you a wider perception of yourself and rareness of time.
This ted talk inspired me to want to try something new for 30 days. Saying you want to try something new is not as enjoyable of actually doing it. For example working out for an hour everyday may be tiring and stressful but the end results are totally worth it. I agree with Matt, " If you wanna try something new give it a shot and try it out for 30 days".
I would recommend this talk to anyone that is willing to accept anything new into their lives. Trying something new for 30 days could chnage your life.
