When Cosmin"s mom was diagnosed with "cold shoulder" it sparked his idea. He saw how much pain his mom was in before, during, and after physical therapy. Plus his mom rarely did her exercises because of the pain. Cosmin and his friends made a customized software that would demonstrate the exercises needed to help heal and ease the injury, in an interactive way. They made a screen where when you raise your arm up and down for an exercise it shows a bee on the screen and you have to avoid the obstacles while moving up and down. The motion sensors on your arm pick up on the screen. They created many interactive ways for patients of physical therapy for almost all types of injuries. This interactive method takes the patients minds off pain and stress but enables the mind to focus more on the interactive fundamental.
This ted talk demonstrates a brilliant idea. I personally did physical therapy for my knee and I absolutely hated it. After seeing this talk and the results of the patients, I really wish I had this software to use. The pain and annoying stretches that come with physical therapy are honestly very time consuming and stressful. I dreaded going to each appointment but with software like this I feel that I would've enjoyed rather than regretted putting myself through physical therapy.
I would recommend this talk to anybody interested in the "next big thing" or is a patient of physical therapy looking for a solution.
